Making car journeys genuinely pleasant for your dog

Most travel sickness in dogs is anxiety rather than motion. Short, pointless journeys that end somewhere fun rewire that association faster than any tablet.
A crate secured in the boot is safest, but a proper crash-tested harness on the back seat is a close second. Loose dogs are a danger to themselves and to you.
Break every two hours. Toilet, water, five minutes of sniffing, back in. Dogs cope far better with a long day when it's broken into chapters.
And yes, the head-out-of-the-window photo is lovely, but a two-inch gap is plenty. Grit and insects at 40mph cause real eye injuries.
